Lead Generation Small Business: Profit No One Talks About!

Someone who is an expert in lead generation

A lead generation small business is one of the most underrated ideas for making money from home.

Since any individual can help businesses or professionals to find and acquire new clients, anyone can get paid for helping them with a such goal.

In this article, I will show you how to start a profitable lead generation small business using what I learned in the digital marketing space so far.

This post contains affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link.

What is the purpose of a lead generation small business?

Many businesses prefer to focus on two main things: making the sales calls and delivering the services they sell.

They do not want to hear about how Facebook Ads or Google Ads, how nicely you can manage them, or how a funnel works.

They want profit. Therefore all they want is to know who to call, to make the sale.

In other words, they are constantly looking for leads and possibly of the highest quality.

So if you can focus on a niche that is struggling to generate leads and be the solution to this, a lead generation business is for you.

How can a lead generation small business be profitable?

To make a lead generation small business profitable you need to be able to sell leads for a price high enough to:

A) Cover the costs of acquiring your own clients

B) Cover the costs needed to provide the leads that you are going to sell

How to Start your lead generation small business

To start your lead generation small business, you must first realize in which of the following three categories you fall:

Zero to little budget:

If this is your case, the solution is to generate leads by yourself organically and then sell them to your clients.

When defining your price per lead, in order to be able to make a profit, you must also take into consideration how much it costs you to acquire a new client.

Some Budget.

If you have some budget, you can consider the option of hiring and paying an advertising agency to generate leads for you that you can then sell to your clients.

Again it is important to do the math right to realize if there can be profit once you’ve covered the costs of paying the agency and the client acquisition costs.

The key here is to find the best agency for the lowest price possible.

Another great alternative is to hire a lead generation specialist freelancer on Fiverr.

There are many talented freelancers on Fiverr, specialized in the lead generation space that can help you uplevel your lead generation business.

What to do once you have a solid budget

If you have a solid budget, you can build the whole lead generation system yourself.

This means that you will need to have a website for your lead generation small business.

You can start your website with WordPress and use WP Engine as your host.

WP Engine provides the fastest, most reliable WordPress hosting for 1.5M+ websites.

Then from that website you will also be able to build sales funnels.

A sales funnel is a sequence of web pages needed to convert users online from total strangers into customers.

You might need two funnels:

1. One for acquiring leads and clients for your own business
2. One for generating leads for your clients.

When it comes to sales funnels, the best platform I know of is Clickfunnels. But there are also many others such as Getresponse, CrazyEgg and more.

One part of your budget should also go for your advertising campaigns.

Ads campaigns are extremely important because this is actually how you send traffic to your sales funnels landing pages.

This method also requires having in-house talent to run and manage the Ad campaigns.

The skills to have are building sales funnels, writing Ad copies, designing or choosing Ad creatives, copywriting, etc.

If you want to learn how to run your own Advertising campaigns or even setting up your sales funnel, Fiverr Learn have some great online courses.

The “Sell Before You Build” strategy

Often people complain about not having a budget, but I say we always do.

Money is essentially time and energy. We give our own time and energy away in exchange for money.

If you don’t have money, you have time to build your email list, connect with potential clients on Linkedin, and cold call.

And if you work full time, make a plan to dedicate at least 7 hours a week to building your business.

If you dedicate 40 hours a week working for someone else, I’m sure you can find 7-10 hours a week for yourself.

I talk about how to get clients organically more in detail in this article here.

Basically it is done by reaching out to potential clients via social media or email, in order to get them on a call with you.

You can also cold call, but even if you do, do not try to sell on the first call. Make this a multi-step process.

In the first call, you can just introduce yourself and explain what you can do for them and why that will help them make more sales.

If they’re interested, ask them when you can talk to them again over the phone in the next few days.

After they set an appointment, that means they are definitely interesting in buying.

The next thing to do is to buy the leads for them somewhere else.

Here is an example:

I found this guy on YouTube who has set up his lead generation small business really nicely.

What he actually does is provide leads to his market of choice, but he doesn’t generate them by himself.

In his video, he is basically targeting loan officers in Arizona. And in the first call, all he is trying to achieve is getting their email address.

This first call is done to warm things up a little and to measure interest.

He also tells them a little about how he is getting the leads. This helps with building transparency with the prospects.

In another video, he shows how the second call is done.

He really goes through the white label CRM and shows how they provide leads for him.

At the end shows a case of success for a client to prove the leads are of high quality.

If you are interested in starting a lead generation small business, there are a few things to learn from him.

Conclusion

Starting and running a profitable lead generation small business can be extremely rewarding, but it does need dedication.

First you will need to know where you are in terms of budget.

Second you need to know who your target audience is, what leads they want, and why are they struggling.

Finally, you need to have a plan in order to collect leads for them.

You can also test the whole lead generation small business plan by making some calls to measure interest.

For a better understanding, follow this guy on YouTube called Daniel Beltran.

In his video you can see him cold calling, how he gets the leads and how much he sells one.

By following the tips in this article and watching him in action, you will be on your way to creating a successful lead generation small business.

I cannot wait to see your success and do not be shy to reach out if you have any questions.

Good luck!
